Maison du Gui
Does exactly what it says on the website - and a bit more! The only surprises were pleasant ones. The gite is just perfect - an object lesson in how it should be done - attention to detail shows everywhere. We have had a great, relaxing, chill-out week in a marvellous, friendly region and we'll be back next year.

We've stayed in some lovely places in La Belle France over the last 30 years and you'd be hard pressed to find a better one than this. Sandie and Graham have been kind, friendly and attentive - all that one could wish for in hosts...retired life at home is hectic and this place is a haven of tranquillity. Flora and fauna are very interesting - species of flowers we haven't seen for many years can be found just down the lane. Rock or sand lizards seem very much at home in the Garden.

Many thanks for being so accommodating and for making every effort to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Maison du Gui is so beautiful and we've had great use out of the garden and pool thanks to a wonderful week of sunshine! Future guests should definitely listen out for the hoots from the bread van at 9am - the croissants are delicious. We've had lovely bike rides around the surrounding countryside. Our peaceful and relaxing week has unfortunately ended, but best wishes to every future guest who is lucky enough to spend some time here!

As the Yorkshire man said “Ah've seen plenty of pretty pictures on seed packets” - but this cannot be applied to Maison du Gui. A great deal of thought and taste and personal care made this place a perfect retreat and the Limousin's woods, green fields and charming little towns and villages encouraged us to take it easy and enjoy people and places which otherwise would have been passed by. You have been assiduous in making our stay relaxing and more than comfortable and you can be assured that we shall be singing your praises when we get home. Vive la France.

Maison du Gui is a lovely find! We have been Francophiles for the last 15 years or so and we think this little piece of paradise is hard to beat. From the great attention to detail show by both Sandie & Graham, to the quiet peaceful location - just what we needed - a relaxing two-week break to refresh ourselves. We even managed to cram in a few days by the pool which was just great! The gite information folder is very well done - and we especially enjoyed visiting Poitiers and Oradour-sur-Glane. Bed linen and towels changed twice a week - absolute luxury! Thanks again to both of you for a perfect holiday and our best wishes for the season ahead.

It's all been said before really so what more can I add? This has been good - very, very good. We shall look back with affection on our stay here especially to walking in the woods and emerging to a wonderful vista across a freshly cut hayfield full of butterflies, a beautiful sunset and lovely views across rolling the countryside with buzzards calling overhead. Four days of searching the internet for the ideal gite for two has paid off, thanks to Sandie & Graham.

We have had a lovely, peaceful stay and have really enjoyed walking and cycling. The gite has been lovely with everything we could possibly need - very homely and Sandie & Graham have been the perfect hosts. Look forward to coming back. So sad to be leaving such an idyllic, tranquil gite. We've had a marvellous time during two weeks of near perfect weather. Sandie & Graham have been excellent hosts. Thoughtful, yet unobtrusive, they've provided all we needed and more. Walks in the local woods, and at Mont de Blond and Lac St Pardoux have all been great with lots of surprising wildlife. We saw a wide variety of birds even at this ?quiet? time of year. And the pool has been bliss! Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

We are extremely sad to be leaving Maison du Gui after one of the best stays we've had in all our travels. The gite, courtyard garden, the grounds and pool are just perfect - stunning and incredibly relaxing. We had such beautiful weather and highlights include lunch at La Voulzie, beautiful Mortemart, and Montmorillon and the incredibly moving Oradour-sur-Glane. Highly recommend playing boules at the end of the garden - but please note, wine affects play!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are sorry to be going back home, but unfortunately that dreaded word ?work? prevails. The gite, garden and pool more than came up to expectations and we are so glad that we came across Maison du Gui's excellent website. Graham & Sandie were most hospitable and unobtrusive. We would have no hesitation in recommending Maison to Gui. The surrounding countryside is lovely with so much to see and plenty of places to walk if you so desire. A most enjoyable, relaxing holiday. We hope to be back again.
